General Information

Parents are involved in their child's class by visiting, volunteering at parties and trips, informal and formal contact with the teachers, weekly newsletters, and more.

Jr. and Sr. Kindergartners and morning preschoolers take one or two field trips each year. Afternoon preschoolers take field trips if they are possible to arrange with the school bus company's schedule.

During three of our four transition times during the day, a staff person is on duty to help your child in and out of your car.

LGCS follows District 96's vacation schedule for the winter and spring breaks. Our school year starts after Labor Day and goes through the end of May.

A summer camp program is also available for children ages 3-7. Children may be enrolled for 3, 6, or 9 weeks. The camp meets three mornings a week from 9:00-1:00. Applications for our '09 camp are available starting in March.

Head teachers are degreed and experienced. Assistant teachers are also well qualified. The teacher to student ratio in the Preschool is approximately 1:8. The Jr. and Sr. Kindergarten maximum ratio is 1:10.

September '09 will start the 23rd year of LGCS, a privately owned school.
